Good News Friday: National Geographic Ditches Plastic Magazine Wrappers

From: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2018/06/editor-letter-plastic-planet-waste-pollution-crisis/

As part of their planet or plastic campaign, which aims to inform consumers about plastic waste and encourage cutting out single use plastics, National Geographic has gotten rid of the plastic wrappers on their magazines. Subscribers of their magazine in the U.S., U.K., and India will now receive their magazines wrapped in a paper wrapper. National Geographic is also working with its international partners to get rid of the plastic wrappers that cover those magazines as well.

I know that we’ve talked about the consequences of plastic use on this blog before, so we’re excited to see this change from a company that has the power to inform and educate others about this issue. We’re hoping that their campaign produces a positive change and motivates others to start reducing their own plastic use.

Want some more good news? It’s Friday! Have a fantastic weekend.
